Miranda Argyle Blog

In 2007 Miranda Argyle showed the first of two site-specific exhibitions at Eleven Spitalfields in London, titled From Where I’m looking Mr Lekeux. Part II of this exhibition series followed in 2015. The work was in stitch and related to the history of silk weaving and embroidery that once thrived in the area.

In 2009 the dancer/choreographer Lucy Bethune created a piece for one of the stitched works Heartbeat followed by a second the following year for I Can Change. In 2015 an installation of this work was shown alongside Fine Cell Work at Doddington Hall in Lincolnshire.

Argyle’s most recent three-dimensional work about the Immigration Islands in the Pacific Ocean was included in the 249th Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. Argyle has shown with the Grey Gallery and continues to be associated with it.

Argyle’s dissertation was titled Art and Psychosis. She has written for publications such as Raw Vision and the Prinzhorn Foundation and was included in their Compendium Unseen and Unheard, Artists Respond to the Prinzhorn Foundation, Ungesehen und Unerhort 2013 ed: Ingrid Von Beyme, Thomas Roeske.
